Dr. Dre Won't Be Charged After Being Accused Of Pulling A Gun On Someone

On Monday, Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call at Dr. Dre's residence in Malibu. A man claimed that he'd gotten into a confrontation with Dr. Dre in which the rapper drew a firearm. Dr. Dre told officers, however, he'd actually brought out a cell phone to record the man, who, allegedly, was in a car that was blocking Dr. Dre's driveway. The situation ended with Dr. Dre being handcuffed and put in a patrol car; he was given a citation but wasn't taken in to custody.
Well, it looks like the case is closed, as prosectors announced Thursday that Dr. Dre will not be charged, reports the L.A. Times. Deputies said that they found no evidence that he'd directed a gun at the man, and that they didn't find a firearm on Dr. Dre.
District Attorney spokesman Ricardo Santiago said that the decision was made because of a "lack of sufficient evidence." LAist is awaiting a statement from the L.A. County Sheriff's department.
A source told the Times that Dre claimed that the man had followed him from a freeway after the two were engaged in a road-rage incident. This, if true, explains a lot of it. Hopefully no one else bothers Dre on the freeway, because really, the dude just wants to ride:
