Fiona Apple, Jenny Lewis, Sarah Silverman and Aziz Ansari to Headline Three Haiti Benefits at Largo at the Coronet

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

In the coming days, musicians and comedians from around Los Angeles will gather at Largo at the Coronet for three special shows to raise funds for the ongoing humanitarian efforts in Haiti. After the charity events, Largo will update attendees on how much was raised and how the funds are being used to save lives. The proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity, which has pledged to rebuild homes in Port-au-Prince; and Save the Children, which has a major presence and distribution center in the country.

While tickets to the first night's show (Fiona Apple) are sold out, a few still remain for the comedy show. In addition, the Jenny Lewis & Friends show was just announced a few minutes ago, so tickets are available for that one if you call soon. The schedule is as follows:

Love and Haiti, Too: A Music Benefit
Saturday, Jan. 23, at 9 p.m.
Featuring Fiona Apple, Jon Brion, Sara Watkins, Sean Watkins, Tom Brosseau, Gillian Welch and other surprise guests

Love and Haiti: A Comedy Benefit
Monday, Jan. 25, at 9 p.m.
Featuring Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari and special guests (rumored to appear, among others, are Ed Helms and Ben Stiller)

Song Circle for Haiti: Jenny Lewis & Friends
Tuesday, Jan. 26, at 8 p.m.
Featuring Jenny Lewis, Azure Ray, Johnathan Rice, Morgan Nagler, Becky Stark, Jason Boesel and other special guests

On Monday and Tuesday, attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a "STILLERSTRONG" headband. Ben Stiller created this headband to raise money for a school he and Save the Children have been building in Haiti. (The official slogan on his website is "STILLERSTRONG: Stealing great ideas from other charities to build a school in Haiti.") Since the earthquake, all funds have been directed to the emergency relief efforts.

Tickets are still available—but going fast—for the second and third nights, and may be purchased by calling Largo at the Coronet at (310) 855-0350. Tickets are $40 for the music nights and $50 for the comedy night. Largo plans to continue holding charity events like this in the near future, so keep an eye on the calendar at www.largo-la.com.

Note: If you aren't able to get a ticket to one of these shows, Largo also recommends Jack Black’s upcoming Haiti charity event at the Wiltern on Feb. 2. (Information will about this event will be released soon.)
