Kim Kardashian Issues Long-Awaited Statement About Motherhood

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

I don't know if you heard, but Kim Kardashian had a baby. The baby's name is North West, and the dad is Kanye West.

In a move that's somewhat out of character, Kim has been staying out of the public eye as she adjusts to the demands of her newborn and basks in the all-encompassing glory that is having sprung a child free from her vagina.

But those days of silence are over. Kim has released a poignant, telling and thoughtful statement about motherhood on her blog, and while it isn't accompanied by photos of her baby (BITCH, PLEASE, THAT SHIT WILL COST YOU), it's still...well, it's kind of lovely:

Hey guys, These past couple of weeks have been filled with the most exciting experiences of my life. I’m enjoying this time to fully embrace motherhood and spend time at home with my family. I’ve been reading all of your messages and want to thank you all for your sweet thoughts and best wishes. It truly means everything to me. I am so blessed to have the support of my family and fans in this beautiful moment. Xo

With love,

Kim

Right? It's totally heartfelt and nice. And understandable. And relatable. Kim Kardashian, we hardly know ye.
One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.
