While we've seen some '90s fashion trends come back recently like Doc Martens and grungey flannel, we didn't see this coming: JNCO jeans are making a comeback. This is not a drill, and it's really the worst-case scenario.

In the good old days, ravers, skaters, Juggalos and other alt kids could get jeans with 50-inch-wide leg openings accented with the JNCO crown emblem on the back pocket. The sides of the jeans came with an embroidered dragon, mammoth, wild-style graffiti, flames or whatever your heart desired. It baffled us why anyone would want to wear them because they were so hideous and frankly, did not help with anyone's figure. But hey, at least you'd have plenty of leg room to do things like get down on the dancefloor at raves.

L.A.-based JNCO told Women's Wear Daily (via Complex) that a Chinese investor is behind the comeback. Although JNCO's new styles won't have hems that are 50-inches wide, they'll meet us halfway with jean leg openings that can go up to 23-inches wide. They'll be keeping their crown logo and will be affixing it to their new line of clothing, which includes t-shirts, joggers, slouchy "knit jeans," and cargo pants (because it's also a ripe time we bring them back).

In a statement, JNCO said their brand will "appeal to trendsetting men and women who wore the brand in the Nineties, as well as a new generation of consumers who will be introduced to the brand's fashion-forward sensibilities for the first time."

They've launched a new website and even a Facebook page that they've been updating pretty frequently with some choice throwback gems like the following:

And here are some of our faves, in general:

And in case you were wondering, JNCO stands for "Judge None, Choose One," which is ironic because we can't help but judge.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead.
