The local news you read here every day is crafted for you, but right now, we need your help to keep it going. In these uncertain times, your support is even more important. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership. Thank you.

After approximately three years of pregnancy, Jessica Simpson has given birth to a bouncing baby girl named Maxwell Drew Johnson.

Maxwell was born at an L.A. hospital this morning -- no word on exactly which hospital it was -- and she weighed in at a hearty 9 lbs. 13 ounces. Simpson's parents and famous little sister Ashlee were seen heading in to the mystery hospital this morning, according to People.

On her website, Simpson's team announced the birth, quoting the singer as saying, "We are so grateful for all the love, support and prayers we have received. This has been the greatest experience of our lives!!"

LAist readers, you may now resume your normal morning activities.
