Is Maria Shriver Rethinking Her Divorce From Arnold Schwarzenegger?

Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

What do Catholicism and wooing have in common? If we are to believe a report today by TMZ, they are two of the reasons Maria Shriver is citing for contemplating staying married to estranged husband Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The gossip site reports that Shriver has confessed to pals she isn't sure about going through with the divorce she filed for in the summer. Shriver's Catholicism and the fact that "Arnold still desperately wants Maria back," and has been wooing her with gifts and by being "extremely sweet" are giving the newswoman pause and perhaps reason to call off the calling off of the couple's 25-year marriage.

But can the Lord and some kindness erase the fact that the Governator knocked up an ex-housekeeper? Does this mean Arnold is willing to toss out his cheeky "I SURVIVED MARIA" t-shirt? And what of the new home Shriver is renovating in Brentwood?

So many questions.
