Home Depot Center, Home of the LA Galaxy, to be Renamed StubHub Center
Engaging in an ongoing national battle for the worst venue name ever, the Home Depot Center in Carson will become the StubHub Center, effective July 1. The new name is a result of a naming-rights agreement between the concert arena and the ticket-selling organization.
The future StubHub Center is located on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills, and is home to a 27,000-seat soccer stadium, an 8,000-seat tennis stadium, a 2,450-seat indoor velodrome and a 2,000-seat track-and-field facility, according to City News Service. It's best known as the home of the LA Galaxy.
The arena also plays host to boxing matches and community events, like an upcoming Easter Egg hunt.
StubHub doesn't have naming rights with any other venue, making Southern California the first lucky area to have the name attached to a local stadium.
