Hollywood Bowl's 2015 Season: Ed Sheeran, Death Cab, Future Islands And Grace Jones

It’s beginning to feel a lot like summer. Not only is it supposed to hit the 80s this week, but the Hollywood Bowl just announced its 2015 Summer Season. The lineup so far includes: a number of movie spectaculars, from E.T. The Extra Terrestrial to 2001: A Space Odyssey to Tan Dun’s Martial Arts Trilogy (with film); familiar voices like Ed Sheeran, Grace Jones, Future Islands, Death Cab for Cutie, tUnE-yArDs, Ziggy Marley, Heart, Harry Connick Jr. and great classical concerts like Bernstein and Bizet and Bach to Bluegrass.

Here are some of the lineup’s highlights:

June 21: Underworld (additional artists to be announced)
June 24: Ed Sheeran
June 26: Sound of Music 50th Anniversary Sing-A-long
June 30: Back to the Future in Concert
July 10-11: Harry Connick Jr.
July 12: Death Cab for Cutie with tUnE-yArDs
July 17-18: David Gray with Amos Lee and the LA Phil
July 21, 23: Carmina Burana with Dudamel
July 22: Sinatra’s 100th Birthday Celebration
July 31-Aug. 1: Monty Python’s Spamalot (fully staged, with all-star TBA cast)
Aug. 5: Jamie Cullum with Lisa Fischer
Aug. 13: Tan Dun’s Martial Arts Trilogy (with film)
Aug. 14-15: Bugs Bunny at the Symphony - 25th Anniversary!
Aug. 16: Reggae Night: Bob Marley’s Roots Rock Reggae - A 70th Birthday Celebration
Aug. 18: A Live Presentation of 2001: A Space Odyssey
Aug. 19: Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club with Diego El Cigala
Aug. 26: Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue • Michael Franti and Spearhead
Sept. 4-6: E.T. The Extraterrestrial with John Williams’ complete score
Sept. 11-13: B-52’s and The Psychedelic Furs
Sept. 27: Grace Jones with Future Islands
