Mothra Double Feature: Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Direrctor Ishiro Honda's 1961 classic Mothra -- "Giant caterpillar-turned-avenging-insect Mothra wreaks havoc on Japan when its best friends - two tiny, telepathic, singing sisters (played by real-life siblings Yumi and Emi Ito) - are kidnapped by an unscrupulous promoter and forced to perform in a Tokyo nightclub." Film #2: Godzilla, Mothra & King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack. Egyptian Theatre, 6712 Hollywood Blvd, 7:30 p.m.

Whale Tales: The gray whales are on the move! They may be travelling 10,000 to 14,000 but you only have to travel to the Santa Monica pier to celebrate the annual migration. Join Heal The Bay for their 2-day "Whale of a Weekend" event. A west end observation deck with binoculars and field guides will be set up in case the mighty creatures pass within viewing distance from the pier. American Cetacean Society representatives will be on hand to answer questions, and a variety of whale-themed activities (chalk drawing, arts & crafts, story time, face painting, film screenings, 2:30 p.m. presentation/game show about changing ocean temperatures and the affect on whales). Santa Monica Pier Aquarium, 1600 Ocean Front Walk, Under the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica, CA 90401,12:30-5:00 p.m.

Reggae, mon: Yep. If Reggae is your joint (*wink*) you best be headed to Long Beach this weekend for the Ragga Muffins Festival 2011. Many more details here.
