Pump YOU up: LA Fit Expo wraps up the weekend with top-tier fitness celebrities, executives and workout moguls and an exhibit floor of 300 fitness and health & wellness companies. Admission includes access to 15 competitions (bodybuilding, arm wrestling, etc) plus seminars, demos and freebees. Holly Hobby: So many acronyms. So much hot glue. In 2004 the Hobby Industry Association (HIA) and the Association of Crafts & Creative Industries (ACCI), joined forces to create a supergroup, the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA). Now an international, trade association, CHA participates "in the design, manufacture, distribution and retail sales of products in the nearly $30 billion U.S. craft and hobby industry." WInter Trade Show 2011 runs through Feb 1 with business seminars, technique workshops, special events, and exhibitors at the Convention Center. On-Site Registration is open 7:00am-6:00pm. Trade Show floor open 10:00am-6:00pm, Badges $50.
Free-For-All Culture: 17 of LA's top museum hangabouts are free for the perusing this weekend. Participating museums include: Autry National Center, California Science Center, Fowler Museum at UCLA, Hammer Museum, Getty Center, Getty Villa, Fire Department Museum, MOCA, The Paley Center for Media, Skirball, Watts Tower and more more more.
