HALLOWEEN: The Halloween celebrations have just begun, right? Tonight is the Hollywood Zombie Prom at Busby’s East. This prom will be decked out with live music, a silent auction, a fashion show, magicians, and contests for scariest and sexiest costume and pole-dancing. CELEBRACION: L.A. Plaza de Cultura y Artes is hosting a Dia De Los Muertos event, featuring interactive workshops in silk screening, mask-making and other crafts. The free celebration will last from 12pm to 4pm on Sunday, October 28. Stick around afterward for a discussion with artist George Newnam about his Casa de Calaveras installation piece at 4pm. More information at LAPCA's website. The Mercado La Paloma is hosting a free festival at Cultural Continuum: Dia De Los Muertos. There will be live music, dance and theater performances, community altar, face painting, and food provided by Mercado La Paloma cooks. You can visit the event page for more information.
