Electric Motorcycle Debuts at Sunset Strip Nightclub

Nothing says L.A. like a motorcycle cruise down the Sunset Strip. Unless maybe... the motorcycle was as high performance as it was eco friendly.

We're guessing this is why the new Brammo Empulse, an electric motorcycle that can go at least 100mph and as far as 121 miles on a single charge, made its big debut this week at Boulevard 3, a lavish Hollywood club at Sunset and Cahuenga.

Brammo's CEO told the Los Angeles Times that the bike is the first viable motorcycle that just happens to be electric. Production starts next month in Oregon, but fortunately for L.A. bike enthusiasts, one of the company's three U.S. dealerships is the Bartels Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey.

Preorders for the basic model start at $16,995.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
