Channing Tatum isn't the only actor who had to gyrate and tear his off his clothes to pay the bills. Chris Pratt, one the favorite Parks and Recreation stars, recently revealed in an interview that he was once an amateur stripper—at the barely legal age of 18.

“I was always a very much naked person," Pratt told BuzzFeed. "I loved to always get naked. I was very free, so I thought, I may as well get paid."

However, he was humble about his dancing gig and said he was nothing like Tatum's Magic Mike or even had very good moves. He was more of the stripper for bachelorette parties (which, in our opinion is just as good), and once even got down to his undies at his friend's grandmother's birthday party. Pratt was paid merely $40 for that gig.

Stripping was just one of the many odds-and-ends jobs—including mowing lawns and babysitting—he took before his career launched when he was discovered by a casting agent in Hawaii in 2000, according to E! Online.

The actor has been fluctuating in his weight over the past few years. He was ripped as a Navy Seal in Zero Dark Thirty, then packed on 60 pounds for his role in Delivery Man. Luckily, for his fans, he shed the weight and beefed up instead for his next role in Guardians of the Galaxy. We can only hope now he'll star in the Magic Mike sequel.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead.
