Video: Emmy Teaser Has 'Breaking Bad' Stars Haggling With Julia Louis-Dreyfus Over The Price Of Her 'Seinfeld' Emmy

With our free press under threat and federal funding for public media gone, your support matters more than ever. Help keep the LAist newsroom strong, become a monthly member or increase your support today.

If you've been missing the chemistry, no pun intended, between Jesse Pinkman and Mr. White, they partner up again in a comedic short from the Television Academy and Emmy sponsor Audi of America in anticipation of next week's 66th Emmy Awards.

This time, Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul—both Emmy winners for Breaking Bad—are Buzz and Randy Jackson, the owners of Barely Legal Pawn, the subject of yet another cheesy reality show about pawn shops. Their customer is Julia Louis-Dreyfus (as herself), who has decided to pawn off her Seinfeld Emmy for some cash to buy an island.

A careful watch will reveal a few Breaking Bad items around the shop, including a flyer for Los Pollos Hermanos.

And the last line is pretty clever.

Cranston, Paul and Louis-Dreyfus are all nominated for awards this year—Cranston for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama and Paul for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama for Breaking Bad and Louis-Dreyfus for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for Veep.

The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards are on Monday, August 25 at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST. We'll be reporting from Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE downtown.

At LAist, we focus on what matters to our community: clear, fair, and transparent reporting that helps you make decisions with confidence and keeps powerful institutions accountable.

Today, on Giving Tuesday, your support for independent local news is critical. With federal funding for public media gone, LAist faces a $1.7 million yearly shortfall. Speaking frankly, how much reader support we receive now will determine the strength of this reliable source of local information now and for years to come.

This work is only possible with community support. Every investigation, service guide, and story is made possible by people like you who believe that local news is a public good and that everyone deserves access to trustworthy local information.

That’s why on this Giving Tuesday, we’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission. It just takes 1 minute to donate below.

Thank you for understanding how essential it is to have an informed community and standing up for free press.
