Broadcaster Rory Markas Dead at 56
Multiple sources are reporting that Angels and USC announcer Rory Markas has passed away at the age of 56 this morning of a possible heart attack. Markas had battled health problems in recent years including a blood clot to his brain in November 2008. Just being named the lead announcer for the Angels for this upcoming season, Markas announced games on virtually every team not named the Dodgers or Lakers in this city and worked as an on-air talent for CBS2, Fox 11 and KNX Newsradio 1070.
