Brittany Murphy's Mother 'Insulted' By Father's Claims His Daughter Was Poisoned

Brittany Murphy's mom is speaking out against her father's claims that Murphy was poisoned. She calls him a deadbeat dad, a convicted criminal, and said his so-called toxicology test was "absurd" and insulting.
Sharon Murphy wrote a letter to The Hollywood Reporter on Monday, revealing how Angelo Bertolotti was never in their lives, not part of their family, and had been in prison for 12 years for criminal felony convictions. She said the results were the "most flimsy of evidence and are more of an insult than an insight into what really happened."
Bertolotti, the father of the Clueless actress who died in Dec. 2009, revealed new toxicology results earlier this month that pointed to his daughter having heavy metals found in her hair samples. However, many toxicologists were skeptical of the results, saying that the heavy metals found were likely from her hair dye and that Carlson Co., the laboratory that administered the test, was not a reputable source. The L.A. County Coroner autopsy report had shown Murphy died from pneumonia and anemia.
"He has made outrageous statements over the past few years, culminating in this latest madness: that my darling daughter was murdered," she wrote.
She also agreed with other reports that Bertolotti's new test results and claims that her daughter was murdered by a third party were ridiculous:
To even mention that the heavy metals that were listed in his test are in rat poison, leading to articles suggesting Brittany ingested that or anything like it, is absurd. If she had, don't you think it would have shown up in the coroner's test of her blood and tissue? A reputable expert will tell you that what this lab did is an ethical violation of the highest order; to even pretend to be able to draw such conclusions on unreliable evidence is the real crime.
