The panic surrounding the original Carmageddon turned out to be all for naught -- nobody got caught in traffic for days or sat on the freeway and slowly descended into madness as officials had warned we might.

But that hasn't stopped the city from reminding us that Carmageddon II is coming up on September 29 and 30, in which both sides of the 405 Freeway will be shut down through the Sepulveda Pass. To help you pass the time those days, a group of artists and community leaders have put together ARTmageddon, a website with maps of art events happening throughout the city that weekend.

The site offers an interactive map as well as a way to search for events by neighborhood. Listings include everything from music to theater to gallery exhibits, and the list is being expanded constantly.
