Sure there's Death Valley and Hell's Kitchen, but you'd be surprised just how dense a map looks when it's filled with towns named after Satan himself. Jonathan Hull, a graphic designer, put together an extensive interactive map that shows just how devil-obsessed our country is. There are chilling names like Route 666 to Kill Devil Hills and Devil's Rocking Chair.

Hull first got the idea from noticing all the Lucifer-themed areas and landmarks when he would go hiking in the Red Rocks in Southern Utah. "I thought it'd be be fun to check that out for the entire country," he told LAist.

The full-screen version of the map can be viewed on his website as easily as a Google Maps would be to navigate through.

So, who's up for a road trip?

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive before year-end will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
