As our resident funny fellow, Farley Elliott, mentioned in last week's LAst Laugh, he's out of town saving the world, which means we're left to find the funny for ourselves. Who better to turn to, though, than some of our readers who happen to also be funny people. Funny "ha ha," mind you, not funny "weird." Well, actually...

We turned to Twitter to see what local comedians and improvisers would recommend for this upcoming week in L.A. comedy. You know, what they would go see themselves.

Here are their picks:

CHRIS ALVARADO [Twitter] [Website]

Mon. 11/15: Hill Jones at iO West at 10pm
Thu. 11/18: Quartet at iO West at 10pm
Fri. 11/19: North by Northeast at iO West at 10pm

Says Chris of his iO West picks: "I chose these shows because they are also awesome but rarely mentioned."

Chris can be seen every Wednesday at 8pm at iO West with the team BANDIT, and also be seen regularly around L.A. with his improv team Kick Drum Decade.

JOSH ANDROSKY [Twitter] [Website]

Weds. 11/17: "Beer In The Shower is produced by Tess Barker and Jen Dyal. HEY DO YOU LIKE FREE HOTDOGS? Great. You're American. That's reason enough to go to Beer In The Shower, which has had the likes of Eddie Pepitone, Kyle Kinane, Shawn Pearlman and Karl Hess perform for free at The White Horse. It's every Wednesday."

Thurs. 11/18: "Literally Funny is a show run by Dan Bialek, (who runs the fantastic 12 Shiny Nickels) and features fantastic comics reading written pieces at The Last Bookstore downtown."

Sun. 11/21: Trick is a brand new show by Emily Maya Mills (UCB) and Brandie Posey (fucking everywhere) that showcases the best in LA stand-up, sketch, and musical comedy at Bordello. Their inaugural lineup includes Tig Notaro, Jimmy Pardo, Dave Ross, and the Birthday Boys.

Josh is starting his own show, Hamclown, which debuts on Nov. 30th at 9 p.m. at The Mezz at the Alexandria Hotel
