A Confetti Installation Is Coming To Fulfill Your Deepest Instagram Wishes

At a certain point in human history, Life became an Instagram post. Well, more specifically, our eternal struggle for meaning and worth was translated into collecting tiny, red, visual estimations of a heart that a multi-billion dollar corporation in Palo Alto collects from your friends and strangers then sells to other multi-billion dollar corporations presents back to you through a closed system it controls. But hey, pics or it didn't happen, right?
But it's not just a multi-billion dollar corporation in Palo Alto that knows this, restaurants and museums do too, as well as a "hybrid contemporary lifestyle brand with a playfully sophisticated, French aesthetic" (re: an online clothing store.)
On August 17 and 18, Avec Les Filles (said "hybrid contemporary lifestyle brand") will be teaming up with The Confetti Project (which defines itself as "a visual study on human identity and a therapy in surrender") for a "pink paradise" pop-up along La Brea Avenue near the Fairfax area. Basically, Avec Les Filles will be presenting its latest collection while Millennials stand in front of a pink wall as confetti is thrown at them for a picture. (Who says a Harvard MBA is necessary to run a company?)
"Please join us during this exclusive, two-day pop-up event for live confetti photo-shoots by day, culminating into a confetti party Thursday evening with music, refreshments and confetti photo-shoots," the event's Facebook page states. That's a lot of confetti photo-shoots.

The confetti-shoots will run between noon and 5 p.m. on both days, with tickets costing $20 a pop. But don't worry, you also get a confetti gift bag for the money you're putting out (hey, what's late-stage capitalism without its goodie bags). The aforementioned confetti-party runs 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday night. And while the party is free, it requires an RSVP. #exclusivity
Oh, and the new Avec Les Filles line will be available throughout the event.
