A woman was killed when her husband ran over her while backing his car out of his driveway in Studio City this afternoon. It sounds like it was unintentional.

Firefighters were called to the scene of the 10800 block of Wrightwood Lane at 1:16 p.m. The woman, described as elderly, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Sgt. Greg Fuqua of the LAPD's Valley Traffic Division told The Daily News that the man "accidentally ran over his wife who was behind the vehicle in the driveway. We have sent out a crisis counseling team to the scene for the husband."

The identity of the man and his wife have not been released.
