DUI Checkpoints For Your Cinco De Mayo Weekend

Everyone and their dog will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo this weekend, and law enforcement officers will be out in full force looking for drivers who had too many shots of tequila to be behind the wheel.
If you do decide to party, find a designated driver or take a cab. One of many reasons not to drive is that you could be caught at one of these stops or get pulled over by law enforcement officers conducting saturation patrols throughout the weekend. We've put together a round-up of the checkpoints.
There will be a sobriety and license checkpoint at 6 pm on tonight Saturday, May 4 at 6 pm until 12 am at Western Avenue and 39th Street.
There will be another checkpoint on Saturday, May 4 at Ventura Boulevard and Columbus Avenue in Van Nuys from 8 pm until 2 am.
In Echo Park, there will be a checkpoint on Saturday, May 4 at 8 pm until 2 am at Sunset Boulevard and Portia Street.
There will be a checkpoint at Manchester Avenue and Broadway from 8 pm until 2 am on Saturday, May 4.
The sheriff's department will also be conducting DUI checkpoints. There will be one in the city of Malibu between the hours of 7:30 pm and 3:30 am tonight, May 4.
There will be several DUI saturation patrols tomorrow Sunday, May 5. One will be conducted from 12 pm until 8 pm in the Harbor area by LAPD. Another will be near the LAPD Newton Division, just south of downtown, from 4 pm until 12 am. There will also be a DUI saturation patrol from 5 pm until 1 am near the LAPD Mission Division, which includes Arleta, Panorama City, Sylmar, North Hills and Mission Hills. The final DUI saturation patrol will be conducted from 5 pm until 1 am near the 77th Street Division.
The Orange County Sheriff's Department will also be sending out DUI saturation patrols on Sunday, May 5 in Anaheim, Fountain Valley, Garden Grove, Laguna Beach, Orange, and throughout the Orange County Sheriff’s Department’s South County area.
