Did Maria Shriver's People Leak the Schwarzenegger Spawngate Story?

Rumor has it Maria Shriver had been dishing to close pals for some time about wanting out of her marriage to action star and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. As the gossip churns, TMZ reports today that it was actually the Shriver camp who leaked the intel about Schwarzenegger's affair and son with the onetime family housekeeper.Reportedly Shriver "wanted to hold a news conference blowing the lid off the scandal" when she first learned her husband had been unfaithful with Mildred Patricia "Patty" Baena and had fathered a son with her around the same time she was carrying her fourth child with the Governator. Shriver apparently learned about Baena and the child as recently as late April or at the start of May.
Accordingly, Schwarzenegger is not pleased his soon-to-be-ex-wife had been discussing her marital dissatisfaction.
The high-profile couple announced their separation in early May.
All gossip aside, it was the Los Angeles Times who broke the story about the scandal, after they reached out to Schwarzenegger with questions about his relationship with Baena and the likelihood he is the father of her 14-year-old son. Today their Top of the Ticket blog explains, via a CNN video report, how the story was assembled. Reporter Mark Barabak explains in the interview that people were eager to come forward with the story, however he did not want to speculate on their motives for doing so.
