Born on the 605: Dad Delivers Daughter on Freeway

While en route to the hospital with his about-to-deliver-our-baby wife at 1:30 a.m. this morning, a father realized his daughter wasn't going to wait until they reached the emergency room at Los Alamitos Medical Center to make her world debut so he had to act quickly.
KTLA reports that he pulled his SUV over on the shoulder of the 605 and called 911. Emergency operators coached him through delivering the baby and he pulled it off without a hitch.
Paramedics arrived on the 605 fifteen minutes after the baby girl was delivered, cut the umbilical cord and conducted routine checks on the health of everyone involved. Mom and baby are doing well and if ever a new dad deserved to feel like a hero, we're guessing this guy is oh so worthy.
