Trader Joe's Robbed at Gun Point in Eagle Rock, Clerk Shot after Fighting Back with Wine Bottle

A brave Trader Joe's clerk last night was shot during an after-hours robbery that involved about three suspects who fled. At about 10:20 p.m., two of the suspects entered the Trader Joe's in Eagle Rock and demanded money at gunpoint while a third suspect waited outside in a car. When a gun was pointed at a female clerk, another clerk, reportedly her boyfriend, took a wine bottle and struck the robber over the head with a wine bottle. He was then shot in the leg by the other suspect before the left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The injured clerk was brought to the hospital in stable condition and was expected to survive," noted KCBS .

Other employees locked themselves inside a storage closet at the back of the store.
