As expected, Bruce Beresford-Redman was charged with murder today by Mexican Authorities, according to KCBS. The former "Survivor" producer is accused of killing his wife Monica, who owned the restaurant Zubumba on Venice Boulevard, while on a trip to Cancun in April. Early into the investigation, Beresford-Redman was considered a person of interest and was barred from leaving Mexico.

Despite those orders, he reappeared in Southern California to get custody of his children last week. But a judge on Friday denied taking temporary guardianship away from the children's grandparents. Carla and Jeanne Burgos, Monica's sisters, are also trying to gain custody of the 3 and 5-year-old children, who did not attend their mother's private memorial service on Sunday afternoon in Culver City.

Beresford-Redman will now have to be brought back to Mexico via extradition, something his attorneys say they'll fight, citing that there was no "legal restraint" to stay. They say police should look into other crimes at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun where a rape occurred just days before Monica's death.
