Pregnant Woman Killed in Home, Husband Arrested for Her Death

Authorities are investigating the death of a Monterey Park woman, and her husband appears to be the prime suspect. 39-year-old Chenan Bao's body was discovered with what Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are calling "suspicious marks" on it. Bao was three months pregnant.Bao and her husband, 41-year-old Hongxin Liu, were reportedly involved in a "domestic violence altercation" inside their home early Sunday morning, according to the LASD. "Bao ultimately died as a result of her injuries," note authorities.
An autopsy is scheduled for today to determine the exact cause of death.
Liu was arrested at 2:48 p.m. Sunday for the death of his wife. He is being held on $1 million bail.
The couple have a two-year-old daughter who is currently in the custody of the Department of Family and Children Services while the investigation is ongoing.
