A scuffle in Playa Vista ended with a man shot and killed by Los Angeles Police Department, according to MyFoxLA, and reports say he was stripped down to his skivvies or less. The man "was seen running naked outside an upscale beach condominium in Playa Vista," at around 3:15 this morning, having arrived at the location by taxi from Hollywood, says KTLA.

An early investigation indicates the man, reportedly a resident of the condo complex, refused to pay his cab fare, and "began stripping off his clothing and running around naked."

Once on scene, LAPD officers attempted to detain the man, whose identity has not been released, and in the ensuing scuffle, the officers shot and killed him. Two of the officers were also injured during the confrontation.

At LAist, we focus on what matters to our community: clear, fair, and transparent reporting that helps you make decisions with confidence and keeps powerful institutions accountable.
