Parolee Wearing Ankle Monitor Busted For Sexually Assaulting Woman Outside Car Parts Store

A 41-year-old parolee and registered sex offender wearing an ankle monitoring device was arrested Wednesday for sexually assaulting a woman in a store parking lot.The incident took place outside a Palmdale car parts store. Authorities were alerted by the victim, a 37-year-old woman who told Palmdale Sheriff's Station Deputies she had been working on her vehicle in the lot when the man approached her and said he was a mechanic, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department.
The suspect, later identified as Corey Green, allegedly became angry when the victim refused his offer of help, and pinned her against the vehicle and began sexually assaulting her. While the victim pleaded for help, Green allegedly overpowered her, but gave up when a store employee entered the lot.
The suspect took off, but the employee followed him in his own vehicle; the employee relayed details about the suspect's location to other store employees while he was in pursuit of Green.
Authorities used the employee's information to locate Green, who was detained. Green is being held without bail due to his California state parole status and is scheduled for arraignment Friday, says the LASD.
The victim was treated for her injuries, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
