Gunman Armed With AK-47 Goes on Shooting Spree Targeting Fiancée and her Family

An early morning shooting in Hawaiian Gardens has left 2 people dead and 3 more injured, according to LA Now. The as-yet unidentified suspect was wielding an AK-47, and appeared to have been targeting his fiancée and her family, after he entered her home and shot first her parents, and then her and her teenage brother.
According to authorities responding to the scene, "as many as 10 people were in the house at the time," and those who had not yet been confronted by the gunman "were jumping out of upstairs windows to escape."
When he heard the shots being fired, a sheriff's deputy on patrol in the area went to the house, where he "confronted the suspect and fired twice, wounding the gunman." Authorities believe the gunman's intent was to kill all ten people on the premises, and noted he had "also poured gas around the home."
