A confrontation between a "screaming man" and Los Angeles Police officers last night at a Wilmington hotel has left one officer stabbed and the suspect dead, according to L.A. Now.

Officers responded to the call regarding the suspect yelling outside at around 11 p.m. last night at the Holland Hotel.

The man was armed with what LAPD Officer Lyle Knight describes as a "sharp cane." Though the officers attempted to still the suspect by using a Taser, he was still able to deliver a stabbing to one of the officers. Knight says the officers shot the suspect out of a fear for their safety. The suspect was killed, and the officer is listed in stable condition.
