A San Diego County boy is accused of fatally stabbing his friend and neighbor. The suspect, a 10-year-old boy with known anger issues, allegedly delivered the deadly stabbing a 12-year-old friend in the younger child's own driveway Monday afternoon, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. The victim was stabbed to death in the chest with a kitchen knife. The two boys were part of a group of local boys who played together, though the victim and suspect reportedly did not attend the same school.

The younger boy's temper was known in the El Cajon neighborhood where he lives, with neighbors attesting the child was prone to verbal outbursts on occasions like losing a video game, or being tapped on the shoulder, however his mother was described as being proactive about her son's mental health, and the boy not typically expressing his anger physically.

It is not likely the 10-year-old will be charged as an adult, say authorities, particularly if he has diagnosed mental issues. Further details about the crime, or a motive, were not made available by the investigators.
