Inland, temperatures have also risen up to the mid 80s for Riverside and San Bernardino counties. In Orange County, expect highs in the low 70s, and upper 70s for coastal areas.

The deserts are staying relatively cool for now — 73 for the high desert and 86 in the low desert.

Tonight's lows will be in the 50s, up to 59 more inland.

    About those advisories

The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories for several parts of SoCal:

    • In the western San Fernando Valley, Eastern Santa Monica mountains and the Santa Clarita Valley, expect wind gusts between 40 to 45 mph starting at 5 p.m. until 12 p.m. Thursday.
    • Along the Malibu coasts, expect local gusts up to 40 mph until 12 p.m.
    • You can expect gusts up to 55 mph along the Interstate 5 and Highway 14 corridors and western San Gabriel mountains. These local gusts will continue until 12 p.m.
    • In the Riverside and San Bernardino County mountains, including the Santa Ana mountains, wind gusts up to 50 mph will occur until 3 p.m. today.
    • San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys, including Orange County Inland areas will also see gusts up to 55 mph until 3 p.m. today.

Meteorologist Adam Roser with the National Weather Service and says these are ideal fire conditions.

"It definitely becomes an elevated, fire weather concern because these winds that come from the desert and on the land toward the ocean are very dry," he said.

    Things to do

Looking for something indoors so you don't get caught in those gusty winds? Try this:

    • 44: The unOFFICIAL, unSANCTIONED Obama Musical: The musical satire THE unOFFICIAL, unSANCTIONED OBAMA MUSICAL (As Told Through the Hazy Recollection of Joe Biden) returns for 20 shows at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood. T.J. Wilkins (NBC’s “The Voice”) stars as Barack Obama, and singer Shanice plays First Lady Michelle Obama. It was created by Eli Bauman, a former Obama campaign organizer and TV writer who wrote the music, lyrics, and book and directed the show. Some songs were co-written with his father, Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, from the ‘70s group Sha Na Na, and band leader, music director, and music co-producer Anthony “Brew” Brewster.
