    Hollywood Forever's Columbarium showcases 87 works from photographer Rick Castro from 1986 to 2022. Curatedd by Hollywood Forever's President Tyler Cassity. The images feature mask-wearing as well as portraits of different figures related to Hollywood Forever (including trans residents, The Goddess Bunny AKA Sandi Crisp and Holly Woodlawn), images from the cemetery circa 1990, Gore Vidal, as well as portraits of Castro's family.

    The musical satire THE unOFFICIAL, unSANCTIONED OBAMA MUSICAL (As Told Through the Hazy Recollection of Joe Biden) returns for 20 shows at the Bourbon Room in Hollywood. T.J. Wilkins (NBC’s “The Voice”) stars as Barack Obama, and singer Shanice plays First Lady Michelle Obama. It was created by Eli Bauman, a former Obama campaign organizer and TV writer who wrote the music, lyrics, and book and directed the show. Some songs were co-written with his father, Jon “Bowzer” Bauman, from the ‘70s group Sha Na Na, and band leader, music director, and music co-producer Anthony “Brew” Brewster.

    Screamfest LA is one of the largest and longest-running horror film festivals in the U.S. and returns this week to Hollywood. This year’s Opening Night film Divinity — about the quest for immortality — stars Stephen Dorff, Moises Arias, Jason Genao, Michael O’Hearn, Karrueche Tran and Emily Willis, with Scott Bakula and Bella Thorne. World Premieres at this year’s festival include Alone Together, from director William Kresch about a couple who flee to a remote cabin and encounter a vengeful spirit (of course); the pagan horror story Lord of Misrule from director William Brent Bell; and The Piper, directed by Erlingur Thoroddsen, about a composer tasked with finishing her late mentor's concert but with deadly consequences.
