We made it to Friday and the good news is that the heatwave is coming to an end.
Forecasters say this weekend there will be low clouds and fog for the coasts and valleys during the mornings and temperatures will be a couple degrees below normal.
Today, temperatures along for the beaches will be in the mid 70s up to mid 80s for the inland coast. Orange County areas will see highs in the 80s.
The valleys will see highs in the upper 80s to low 90s expect for the western San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley, where a high of 100 degrees is expected in the warmest areas.
More inland, temperatures will be in the upper 90s up to 104 degrees in lower Riverside county.
Over in the deserts, expect a high of 105 degrees for the high desert and up to 118 degrees for Coachella Valley. Excessive heat for the deserts will end tonight.
Forecasters say gusty winds will prevail over Coachella Valley, with the strongest gusts in northern Coachella Valley of 40 to 50 mph this evening and up to 55 mph for Saturday evening.
Overnight lows will drop to the 60s for interior areas, but remain in the 80s for low deserts. Read why that's a health risk.

Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.
