In the weather forecast for today and this weekend you can expect sunny skies paired with chilly temps. Today's highs will be in the upper 50s to low 60s but the average temperature for the weekend will be in the mid 60s, up to 66 degrees is the warmest for some inland areas and the valleys.
High surf and gusty winds
Gusty winds will make an appearance for northern Ventura county mountains and the Interstate 5 corridor starting at 6 p.m. this evening through Sunday.
More high surf is expected to pound the Malibu coast, Los Angeles and Ventura county beaches until noon today. Weather forecasters warn swimmers and surfers to beware of strong rip currents and stay away from rock jetties.

Talk about repeating history. On this week in 1998, El Niño kicked into gear bringing heavy rain to SoCal creating mudslides, flooding, sinkholes, swift water rescue, and tornadoes on a beach in Encinitas.
