Happy Friday L.A.! Low clouds and fog from early this morning should partially clear this afternoon.

There's also a wind advisory in effect until 3 p.m. for the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Susana Mountains, Ventura County Mountains, and the Western San Gabriel Mountains. The National Weather Service reports wind gusts of between 45 mph and 50 mph.

Quick Facts
    • Today’s weather: Partly cloudy, rising temperatures.
    • Beaches: highs in the mid-70s, lows in the mid-50s
    • Mountains: highs between 40-to-50 degrees, lows between 30-to-40 degrees
    • Inland: highs in the mid-to-upper 70s, lows in the mid-to-high 50s

Meanwhile, in the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys, temperatures will average around the mid-70s. The Santa Clarita Valley should sit around 70 degrees. The Antelope Valley will be a bit cooler in the mid-50s to lower-60s.

Saturday will be a bit cooler with continuing offshore winds headed inland.

A smaller storm system is expected to bring rain and snow to the region beginning on Sunday, but Monday will be the wettest day.

Forecast models say most areas will see under half an inch of rain, but there's a 20% chance that rain amounts could reach up to an inch. Rain will continue into early Tuesday morning.

At LAist, we believe in journalism without censorship and the right of a free press to speak truth to those in power. Our hard-hitting watchdog reporting on local government, climate, and the ongoing housing and homelessness crisis is trustworthy, independent and freely accessible to everyone thanks to the support of readers like you.

But the game has changed: Congress voted to eliminate funding for public media across the country. Here at LAist that means a loss of $1.7 million in our budget every year. We want to assure you that despite growing threats to free press and free speech, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust. Speaking frankly, the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news in our community.

We’re asking you to stand up for independent reporting that will not be silenced. With more individuals like you supporting this public service, we can continue to provide essential coverage for Southern Californians that you can’t find anywhere else. Become a monthly member today to help sustain this mission.

Thank you for your generous support and belief in the value of independent news.
