Get Ready For Some Heavy Rain And Possible Flooding

Topline:
An atmospheric river looks to be heading straight for Southern California next week, potentially bringing more than 6 inches of rain to Los Angeles over a two week period, according to UCLA Climate Scientist Daniel Swain. Significant flooding is possible.
Before the storm: Temperatures will be quite warm until mid next week, with possible records set in the 70s. But, Swain added, a strong storm will be "galloping straight for Central and Southern California."
The models: We’re still a bit far out, meaning things could change, but the signals are strong. Swain said there are clear signs that El Niño is influencing the region's recent weather. The storms could continue into mid-February.
Statewide: The Southland won't be the only area dealing with heavy storm activity. Heavy flooding is expected in British Columbia, Washington state, and even down down in Baja.
