Firefighters were working to extinguish a fire that broke out at Blue Ocean Restaurant on Garfield Avenue in Alhambra Thursday morning. Smoke could be seen billowing in the sky as the roof of the seafood and dim sum restaurant. Three people were in the kitchen of the restaurant when the fire started, according to Alhambra Asst. Fire Chief Ray Mosack.

The roof of the building collapsed ultimately destroying the restaurant. Nobody was injured.

Authorities closed down roads in the surrounding area.
