Blow Hard: The Santa Ana Winds Are Coming!

The National Weather Service is cautioning Angelenos and others in the region that we are about to experience what they're hailing as the "first notable Santa Ana wind event of the season."
That means we are going to be subject to warm temps and gusty northeast winds starting Thursday night and continuing into the weekend. A high wind watch is in effect Thursday evening through Friday evening, with the strongest winds expected midday Friday then tapering off.
Winds are expected to clock in at 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 60 MPH.
And this lovely fall-like cool will give way to warmer temps--like mid-80s in Downtown Los Angeles on Friday.
For the Santa Ana days, drivers are cautioned to be prepared for hazardous conditions, such as downed trees or power lines, especially on the I-5 corridor and on Highway 14.
