Blame It On Sandal: Runaway Jaguar Rips Through Dr. Blue Jeanns

Dr. Blue Jeanns in Sherman Oaks needed some professional help of its own on Monday after a driver's sandal "became caught up in the accelerator," causing a red Jaguar to crash through the front of the closed denim repair shop just after 4:30 p.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey, according to the Daily News.
This was the second time in three years a car had smashed into the business, the store's owner, who did not give his name, told KCAL9. The owner told KCAL9 that because all his machinery was in the back area "and was intact and in good condition," he would just clean up the front and open for business.
Driver Ellie Demartoff said her "sandals started coming off" and she was unable to stop the car from accelerating. Said Demartoff, "The store was closed, thank God...I've been driving since I was 18 and I have never had an accident ... I've never had a ticket."
