Autumn Arrives! Cooler Weather And Rain Are On Their Way

After a week that saw triple-digit temperatures and hot, gusty Santa Anas, we're happy to hear that the Southland will be cooling down and feeling (relatively more) autumnal.
Already temperatures have cooled—and the National Weather Service says it will stay that way for this upcoming week. Temperatures now are generally cooler than we're used to at this time of the year. By mid-week (perhaps as early as Monday) we should be seeing some rain, according to City News Service.
One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.
