Authorities are searching this morning for a lost diver somewhere near Santa Barbara Island.

The 54-year-old man was free-diving off the coast of the island without any diving gear. Friends reported him missing at 9 last night, and the search is continuing this morning, CBS reports.

He was last seen in a green shirt and black bottoms.

Coast Guard crews on the ground are being assisted by search personnel in the air.
