Authorities are investigating the death of a person at 2:30 a.m. in the parking garage of 651 N. San Fernando Road in Burbank. The death occurred in Level One of the North Parking Garage outside of an eatery.

"It appears to be a suicide. As far as I know it's a single gunshot wound," Sgt. Brian Gordon of the Burbank PD told City News Service. As of this report police have yet to release any details about the victim.

The garage serves as the parking structure for IKEA, Barnes & Noble, the Burbank Town Center, and other retail businesses in Downtown Burbank.

If someone you know exhibits warning signs of suicide: do not leave the person alone, remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt, and call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 800-273-TALK (8255) or take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional.
