Just as so many new art shows are opening with the onset of PST ART this fall, others are closing, and it’s your last chance to see the iconic Ed Ruscha exhibit at LACMA, which closes Oct. 6.

This week, I’m really excited about LUMINEX, the projection event that turns downtown’s South Park neighborhood into a living, breathing gallery space at night. Plus, Friday is National Taco Day, with deals abounding for what — and I think we can agree on this — is our city’s favorite food.

For more to explore, visit LAist.com, where you can go on a Cambodian food tour of Long Beach, catch up on the recent DA debate between George Gascón and challenger Nathan Hochman on the Imperfect Paradise podcast, and learn what’s behind all those posters advertising nurse assistant training.
