AM news: the Governator, the DWP and biking biking
The LA Times looks inside Schwarzenegger's Governorship and finds the Governator "difficult to predict," "mercurial," "fun," Democrat-kissing and peach-schnapps-drinking. We're thinking "loose cannon."
The Daily News scrutizes the DWP's budget and doesn't like employee perks like a choir, breastfeeding classes and training. A rate hike is in the works so they're a little cranky — axing a $28,000 choir program won't save our current rates.
Yesterday 5 bicyclists started a 33-day, 3,000-mile ride from Dockwiler Beach. The Airline Ride Across America is raising funds and remembering the airline staff who died in 9-11. Each day of the ride is dedicated to one vicitm and will end with visits to the crash sites.
Driving through Echo Park we ducked swarms of bikes yesterday and realized that the postponed LA Scavenger Hunt was in session; blogging.la and LA Voice tell the story from the inside (and with photos!)
