It's Gonna Be Hot In L.A. (Sorry, Rest Of The Country)

Happy February! Don't tell your friends in New York, where the week's lowest temperature is five freaking degrees and it's gonna snow, but L.A. is in for a warm streak with temperatures in the valleys climbing as high as 88 by Friday.
It's a balmy 78 degrees today in Highland Park, but forecasts say temps will climb through the week, cresting by the weekend, with the San Gabriel Valley getting fried at 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Doggies will be walked, shorts will be worn, sunscreen will be smeared, and creepy Craigslist missed connections will flourish.
For Angelenos prone to melting, don't worry. In fact, you should keep your scarf and ski cap handy, because by Sunday we'll be back down to a bone-chilling mid-winter high of 76. Brrrr!!!
