The Gold Line's Eastside Extension is opening this Sunday, allowing for car-free travel between East L.A. and Union Station. Here's a look at the timetable (.pdf).
Although the Gold Line will begin weekday northbound service, which is considered from East L.A. to Pasadena, at 3:40 a.m., it will only be from Union Station to Pasadena. The first train to leave the Atlantic Station will happen at 4:21 a.m., arriving at Union Station 24 minutes later. The last train to leave Atlantic will be at 12:45 a.m., but it will not continue on past Union Station. The last train to Pasadena leaves East L.A. at 11:25 p.m., or 11:54 p.m. from Union Station.
As for southbound travel--that's Pasadena to East L.A.--the first train to leave Union Station will be 3:40 a.m., arriving at the Atlantic Station at 4:05 a.m. Only four trains will make the full route from Pasadena to East L.A. between 4:36 and 5:45 a.m. before regular service begins just shy of 6 a.m. The last train departing Union Station for East L.A. will be at 12:14 a.m. The last train leaving Pasadena, which is at 12:40 a.m., will stop at Union Station and not continue on.
As for weekends and holidays, the schedule is not all that different, except for how often trains arrive.
