59-Year-Old Woman Killed After Being Set Ablaze

A 59-year-old woman died after being set ablaze, police say.Police responded to a call in Sylmar around 4 am on Saturday, August 25, according to a release from the LAPD. They discovered Heunae Chang, 59, suffering from severe burns in a home in the hills of Sylmar. She was rushed to the hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries on August 30.
Her son Phillip Chang, 25, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder while his mother was still alive, according to The Daily News.
Robbery homicide detectives in the LAPD are working with arson investigators.
