129 Flights To/From LAX Canceled Due to Hurricane Sandy

If you have plans to travel to the east coast today or tomorrow, you may be soon making alternate plans, if you haven't already. Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, air travel to cities like New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington D.C. and others in the path of the massive storm, is slowing down or coming to a complete stop.

Locally, Los Angeles International Airport is reporting over 100 flights canceled Monday and Tuesday.

Here's how things break down so far by airline to/from LAX, according to City News Service:

• U.S. Airways cancelled two flights to Philadelphia
• Virgin America cancelled seven departures and seven arrivals, to New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
• Jet Blue cancelled three departures to New York and two to Boston.
• American Airlines cancelled today's seven departures to New York and Washington and 15 departures and 16 arrivals tomorrow to and from New York, Boston, Washington and Newark.
• Delta Airlines cancelled three departures today to New York and eight tomorrow.
• Alaska Airlines has cancelled all six of its Washington D.C. departures today and tomorrow.
• United Airlines cancelled nine departures today and 14 tomorrow to New York, Newark and Washington, D.C. Its sister company, Continental Airlines, cancelled eight departures today and 10 tomorrow to the east coast.

Airlines are also canceling flights from other L.A.-area airports, such a Burbank's Bob Hope Airport:

Anyone traveling to the east coast from any airport is urged to check with their airline to keep tabs on their flight status before packing up and heading to the terminal.
